The suspect, Musibau Kehinde, a resident of Olorunsogo Street, beside Havaliah Estate, was arrested by men of Agbado Police Division, after the parents of the child, (names withheld) had reported the incident.
The parents have, however, expressed their displeasure on how the investigative police officer in charge of the case has been handling it, after the suspect was arraigned before an Ota magistrates’ court.
The suspect had reportedly waylaid the girl on May 14 and 15, on her way from school and had sexual intercourse with her in an uncompleted building in the area.
A relative to the parents of the girl, who simply identified herself as Adun, informed the Nigerian Tribune that the suspect had in the past been sexually abusing young girls and married women.
Adun stated that the parents of the raped girl were not around when the incident happened and the bubble on the illicit act burst when the mother was examining her clothes and found out that her underwears were torn.
The young girl was said to have told her mother and narrated how Musibau waylaid her twice on her way from school and forcibly slept with her.
The mother also reportedly discovered some bruises on the young girl’s body and she explained that her tormentor brutalised her before sleeping with her.
