few weeks after celebrity singer, Dapo Oyebanjo, aka D’Banj, joined G.O.O.D Music/Mercury Records, somebody started a rumour that he was shot in a nightclub in the USA.
But unknown to most of his fans in Nigeria, D’Banj was busy celebrating the success of his new hit single- Oliver Twist- in the United Kingdom.
Freshly remixed by Don Jazzy, the CD unexpectedly climbed the UK chart to an impressive ninth position. On his part, D’Banj expressed his gratitude to God by dragging his friends and well-wishers to a well deserved cocktail at the prestigious club Aura in Mayfair, London.
LIFE&BEAT learnt that the singer ordered expensive drinks and popped champagne with some of UK’s on-air personalities and home boys, such as new signee HKN Gang’s Davido, Sina Rambo, B-Red and Naeto C.
To round off the celebration, he took to the stage to perform his hit single to the appreciative crowd of industry elite and a large section of female fans, many of who rushed at him for autograph. A Koko concert is scheduled to take place in the UK in August with an impressive line-up of top Nigerian artistes.
